BELIEVE IN A WORLD WITHOUT BREAST CANCER

Somewhere in the world, a woman dies from breast cancer every 69 seconds.

That’s a pretty startling statistic. No one should have to face this disease, so

in order to create a future without breast cancer, I walk in the Susan G. Komen

3-Day for the Cure.

It’s a 60-mile walk over the course of three days

that raises funds for breast cancer research and community programs. Over the

past five years, I have had many incredible experiences participating in this

event. Thanks to the support of wonderful family, friends and a few people who I

don’t even know, I’ve raised over $14,000.00 to help fund the war against breast

cancer..

Walking 60 miles is a challenge and requires commitment, but I

will keep walking until breast cancer is no longer a threat. I walk in memory

and honor of my beautiful Mommy. I walk because she fought the good fight. I

walk because she is no longer with us on earth but lives on in my heart. I walk

for all the pink warriors past, present and future.  I walk because I believe

that someday no one will have to lose their mother, daughter, sister, aunt,

cousin, friend, wife to this horrible disease.  I walk for my children.  I walk

for faith, hope and love. I walk because thanks be to God I can.

Happy 13th Birthday

Thirteen years ago today, I was given the first of the two greatest blessings in my life. I became the greatest of all things I could ever be…mom.  I am so proud of the young man he is becoming. A follower of Christ, kind, loving, considerate of others, chivalrous, respectful, confident, a skilled martial artist, a good student, intelligent, witty, a lover of books with a talent for writing, a big brother who is willing to carry his younger brother when he needs a hand. A young champion who will grow into a fine young man of God…
